Deputy Secretary Sherman and Director-General Qu emphasized the importance of FAO’s mandate to respond to the current global food security crisis, exacerbated by Russia’s unprovoked war in Ukraine. The United States supports FAO’s focus on science and technology in promoting the global food system transformation needed to increase global food security and combat climate change.
